The value of testing on your photoblog

September 21st, 2008 No Comments

The other day (on one of my other blogs) I wrote a really quick post about how I have really enjoyed reading “Always Be Testing”. The more that I have been thinking about the book, the more I have come to realize that photobloggers should be testing their website as well. Whether your long-term goal is to monetize your site (using either direct or in-direct methods) there are always room for improvement. I highly recommend picking up a copy of the book and start working on ways to test on your photoblog today. A while back I talked about using larger images on the hypothesis that this would encourage more page clicks, well I am in the process of setting up my first Google Website Optimizer test now, and will be publishing the results on a future date.

NOTE: the link to the book in this article is an affiliate link to my Amazon account. Help support the site by buying the book through my website!

Vincent Versace’s Welcome to Oz has to be one of the best photography books that I have come across in a very long time.
